The University of Mary hockey team rose to No. 7 in the first computer-produced rankings of the 2026-27 American Collegiate Hockey Association Men’s Division I season, according to a Nov. 4 announcement from University of Mary Athletics. The Marauders’ 6-3-0 record puts them three places higher than their previous ranking of No. 10, the announcement said.
University of Mary Athletics said the first four regular-season rankings were coaches polls, and the Nov. 4 ranking was the fifth of the season and the first computer ranking. The Marauders had been ranked No. 10 or No. 11 earlier this season, according to the announcement.
The team has played seven ranked opponents in its first nine games, earning wins over Grand Canyon, Arizona State, the University of Jamestown and Minot State, the announcement said. Of its remaining 22 games, 11 are against teams currently ranked nationally, according to University of Mary Athletics.
The Marauders were scheduled to begin a four-game home stand against Lake Region State College at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 4, followed by games against Iowa State on Friday and Saturday, Nov. 6-7, the announcement said. Friday’s game was listed for 7 p.m. and Saturday’s for 5 p.m. Home games are played at the Starion Sports Complex Schwan Cadillac Rink in Mandan, according to the announcement.
The computer rankings will determine 15 of 24 berths in the 2027 ACHA Men’s Division I National Championships, with nine places reserved for conference champions, University of Mary Athletics said. The championship is scheduled for March 11-16 at the Centene Community Ice Center in Maryland Heights, Missouri, according to the announcement.
