Bismarck’s dining map is getting a serious refresh in late 2025: Habibi, a Mediterranean concept, has officially opened in south Bismarck, and plans are underway for Freddy’s Frozen Custard & Steakburgers in North Bismarck. At the same time, the city’s major employers still anchor the economy, but local business growth and talent recruitment campaigns are changing the landscape.

Dining & Local Food Scene

Habibi (Gyros & Bowls) has launched in the strip mall near Running’s and Starbucks on South Washington St., offering fast-casual Mediterranean fare in Bismarck’s south side.

Owner Shahid Mehmood pulled recipes and expertise from London to bring global flavors “we miss” to Bismarck.

Meanwhile, FIN Asian Cuisine debuted in June 2025 at 2626 State Street, branding itself as a sleek, modern Asian dining experience that blends traditional flavors with innovation.

“This is something new for Bismarck, something people haven’t really seen here before,” says GM Kiky Rizky.

In North Bismarck, a Freddy’s Frozen Custard & Steakburgers is planned near Furniture Row and Les Schwab, edging in as a new competitor in the burger & dessert scene.

The Aspens Group confirmed their commitment to the project, though no set opening date is public yet.

The wider Bismarck–Mandan area has welcomed 19 new businesses so far in 2024–2025, including food, service, retail, and tech concepts.

In short: Bismarck residents now have more choices than ever, from Mediterranean bowls to curated Asian menus, and soon burger & custard stops.

If you live in south Bismarck, Habibi is now a local lunch/dinner option that avoids a drive downtown.

North side residents should watch Freddy’s progress—it may become a favorite stop for sweet treats and burgers.

In 2025, Bismarck isn’t just adding new restaurants—it’s gradually reshaping its culinary identity. Habibi and FIN mark a shift toward more globally minded local dining, while Freddy’s promises a mainstream, family-friendly anchor.
