The 18th Avenue access off 3rd Street in Bismarck will close starting Monday, Oct. 12, for up to two weeks while storm sewer installation is underway, the North Dakota Department of Transportation said. The agency said the closure is part of the Memorial Highway reconstruction project.
NDDOT said traffic traveling to and from the Meadowlands area will be detoured through the north access onto Memorial Highway. The agency said signs and traffic-control devices will mark the detour route and that the detour is intended to help keep drivers and crews safe during the work.
NDDOT said drivers should plan for extra travel time. The agency said weather conditions or unexpected delays could affect the schedule. It also reminded motorists to drive safely and stay alert in work zones.
The agency said project updates and more information are available at dot.nd.gov/memorialhwy. NDDOT said up-to-date road conditions and construction information are available by calling 511 or visiting the ND Roads map at travel.dot.nd.gov.
